Our U.S. production facility in Palm Bay, Florida, has a 35-year history of safe, responsible operations. In addition to custom and toll manufacturing for others, we produce a propriety line of FARMetl™ acetylacetonate products used in a broad range of applications. Joe Beatty became CEO of FAR Chemical in 2015 after previously serving in various executive management, sales, and operations roles in the specialty chemical industry. Before joining FAR, Joe was President, CEO, and Director of Xolve Inc. He served as Managing Director, North America for ColorMatrix Corporation and as Vice President, North America for MetoKote Corporation. He previously held various senior leadership positions with Hexion Specialty Chemicals and its predecessor companies (McWhorter Technologies, Eastman Chemical and Resolution Specialty Materials). Joe began his career in sales in the industrial water treatment industry with WR Grace – Dearborn Division, becoming vice president, sales and marketing. Joe has a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Kathie Harrison is the CFO of FAR Chemical. Prior to joining FAR in 2018, Kathie served in executive financial roles in a variety of industries, most recently as chief financial officer for a technology company. Kathie has served as the chief financial officer for General Electric's Transportation Division and for United Technologies in its Fire and Security Division. Kathie earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Barton College and a master's of business administration from the University of Phoenix.
Jerry Reddinger has served as the Commercial Director for FAR Chemical since early 2016. Over his 20 years in the specialty chemicals industry, Jerry has held various commercial, operations, and technology leadership roles with companies such as Huntsman, Hexion, Evonik, and Ascend Performance Materials. Dr. Reddinger earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University and his doctorate in polymer chemistry from the University of Florida.
Ian Chester leads Research and Development at FAR Chemical and has been with the company since 1991. He oversees the research and development laboratories, quality department, and kilo-lab and pilot plant activities. Prior to joining FAR Chemical, Dr. Chester worked for 18 years in the US and UK pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Chester earned his bachelor's degree with honors and a doctorate degree in chemistry from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.
Geoff Crook serves as Plant Manager for FAR Chemical, overseeing all plant and manufacturing operations. Geoff joined FAR in 1989 as a Plant Operator and subsequently served as a Shift Leader, Production Coordinator, and Production Manager. Geoff earned bachelor's degrees in chemistry from the Florida Institute of Technology and english from Syracuse University.
Jason Shorey is the Engineering Manager at FAR Chemical, joining the firm in 2001. Jason began with FAR as Process Development Engineer and later served as Production Manager. Prior to joining the company, Jason was a Process Engineer for the Wright Corporation. He started his career spending several years as a bench-scale production chemist. Jason has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
FAR is part of CPS Performance Materials, a diversified specialty chemicals manufacturer of performance polymers, fine chemicals, and chemical illumination solutions. In 2017, Arsenal Capital Partners created CPS as a new platform focused on specialty polymers and chemicals for high-value end markets, through the acquisition of Cyalume Technologies.
